Cross Coverage Program

Dear Valued Patient

At Capital Women’s Care, we continue to focus on improving the lives of women through compassionate, patient centered care. We recognize the importance of communication in the professional relationships we share with our patients. Since the Covid pandemic we have been challenged by the capacity to provide safe care for our patients and our providers. To continue caring for you at the highest standard, we have strengthened our overnight and weekend call coverage by collaborating with another Capital Women’s Care physician group.

Divisions 21 and 23 have worked together behind the scenes for over seventeen years. Consultative support and operative assistance have been paramount to the care model we have already been providing. Your physician relationship during office hours is completely unchanged. Our investment in expert overnight and weekend physician coverage is the only refinement to the way we will care for you.

We think you will appreciate the family approach that we have structured when considering your after-hours team. While it might be a bit more obvious that Dr. Jacqueline Apgar and Dr. Anders Apgar are married, we also have a sister team working for you. Dr. Alam and Dr. Gomez are collaborating professionally for the first time in their medical careers. Their mother worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse for 44 years, and specifically at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital for over 13 years. Dr. Gomez and Dr. Mirghani trained together at Albert Einstein hospital in Philadelphia. Whether you are considering family or focused on health maintenance, our physicians are excited to collectively provide outstanding care.
